Sustainability Advocate & Educator

Telena Cassell is an educator, social media manager, and brand strategist with extensive experience in and passion for climate change issues. Her first professional exposure to the green industry space began when she had the opportunity to work directly under Emmy award-winning journalist/producer Bianca Alexander, and on Conscious Living TV as it was launched by Conscious Planet Media.

As a former high school and middle school teacher, Telena understands that curriculum development is the way to effect true change in all communities—especially surrounding climate issues and sustainability.

Telena has partnered with numerous organization, non-profits, charities, schools and academic programs over the years in a variety of roles.

During her time as an educator in inner city urban schools with the LA Unified School District and Green Dot Public Schools, she created assessments that focus on STEM, Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards integration and other standards.

In 2024, Telena was tapped to lead a college internship program for students majoring in journalism, communication, and the digital arts. The program is limited to undergraduate and graduate students ages 18 to 24 and pulls top students from media programs across the country together into a new cohort every semester. Telena crafted the curriculum for the program and students receive 1 to 3 college credits depending on their customized track. She believes giving back helps to strengthen communities and the future of our nation’s youth.
